Hey there!

This week is our Student Leadership Team Meeting! Make sure to coordinate rides with your student if they are coming.

Oak Haven Church has been promoting a survey for understanding where we are as a church during the Lead Pastor transition. This survey will act sort of as a doctor’s check up for our church. We will be using it to discern with God what the right next steps for our congregation will be in the coming months and years.

If you are (or have been) a part of our church, please take the time to fill it out. Your teenagers are invited to fill it out as well! I’ve copied the note from our board chair, as well as the link to the survey below.

— Pastor Ryan

Hello from Oak Haven Church,

We want your thoughts! In preparation for the future of Oak Haven our Board of Stewards has partnered with VitalChurch Ministry to help us objectively assess the state of our church. Surveying our congregation is a huge part of this process. Whether or not you attend Oak Haven at this time, we would like to hear from you. This will help us identify what is currently hindering us and to see more clearly what God is doing so we can point in that direction. We need every voice, every person, as much participation as possible! Access the survey here, it will be open until midnight, February 8th.

We are excited to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to our church!

(printed copies are available from the office; please be advised that all responses must be entered electronically so a board member will be inputting your written responses into the system. Once completed please return your survey to the black box on the table outside the church office.)

WHAT WE’RE LEARNING

Our Series

In this series, we’re looking at different people who shared the experience they’ve had with Jesus. Whether it’s the way Jesus saved us or how he is active in our daily lives, the stories we have with Christ can be shared to bring others closer to Him.

This week we are studying Acts 22 and focusing on sharing our story of faith with others.

Questions You Can Ask

If you’d like to start a conversation with your student about our lesson, consider these:

  • In what ways do you (and don’t you) view your spiritual journey as a gift to others?

  • Why do you think so many Christ-followers struggle to tell others about Jesus?

  • What could be your next step in learning how to tell your story so others respond to it?

RESOURCE

Parent Study

If you are the kind of person who likes to learn along, or maybe there’s another parent (or a group of you!) who want to have a discussion together, you can use these discussion guides!
