Hey there!
We have completed the fall “busy season” at Oak Haven Youth! Kickoff, the Nerf Night, Fall Retreat, and Vespers all took up extra time in many of our calendars. The next season will move at a bit slower pace as we catch our breath and prepare for the holiday season.
At the end of this email I have information about our 4-week Sunday Morning spiritual formation class. I’d like you to seriously consider coming as a family or just sending your student. These practices have the power to transform your relationship with God if you let them!
WHAT WE’RE LEARNING
Our Series
The Spirit of God is full of mystery. Most Christians struggle to know what to make of Him. We will be looking at what the Bible says the Spirit is and how His influence affects our life and faith.

A Powerful Teacher. This week we are studying John 14:25–26, Acts 1:8, and Romans 8:26–27 and focusing on how to apply God’s Word in our lives.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION CLASS
The Solitude Practice

Sometimes we ask ourselves: “Why can’t I hear God?” Why does God seem so far away?
What if there were a practice from Jesus that helps us cut through the noise of the world, it’s ideas, and even our own minds?
This is the practice of solitude. I know it sounds intense, but we aren’t talking about escaping to a monetary, just making space for God in the middle of the crazy. We’re going to learn more on Sundays in November.
This is a 4 Week class starting on November 2nd. We meet downstairs in the Community Room at church at 8:30am each morning before church. There is a video teaching with room for discussion, something to practice during the week, and opportunities for going deeper for those who are looking for more.
I’d love for you to consider bringing your family. The practice of solitude is something we don’t think about in relationship to our faith, and yet Jesus found it to be a VITAL part of his ministry. If Jesus needed it, we shouldn’t put it off because we don’t “have time.” Even if you cant bring your family, would you consider sending your teenager? This topic will be so important for them as they navigate this world that always wants to capture their attention.
You can find more info and sign up at the link below. While you’re there, would you consider signing up to bring a light breakfast for 15-20 people? We love being hospitable and making this an environment conducive to conversation and growth!
That’s it! Please email with any Questions.
